For almost 30 years, ABO Energy´s in-house specialist departments have been providing all steps of project development and implementation: from site assessment, planning, engineering, permitting and financing to construction, energy sales, grid connection, operational management and maintenance. Project Manager (Project Development)
Manage part of the Company's renewable energy portfolio, with a strong focus on initial site selection through the EIA process. The successful candidate will have some exposure to post planning and pre-construction compliance requirements.
This position involves significant interaction with other ABO staff as part of a multi-discipline team including staff in ABO Energy's offices in United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Ireland, and Germany
Your Responsibilities
- Develop solar and battery/hybrid energy projects (including other technologies).
- Co-ordination and management of site identification and appraisal/feasibility process.
- Engagement and management of consultants, and technical review of expert studies and impact assessments for completeness and accuracy.
- Preparation and co-ordination of planning application, EIA/ES and appeal documentation
- Coordination and negotiation of planning compliance submissions and monitoring reporting schedule.
- Represent the company in planning and other matters associated with the site.
- Creation and maintenance of project documentation ensuring all records are to the standards required by ABO Energy, as well as outside monitoring agencies.
- Deliver projects within budget and on time.
- Manage invoice and payment schedules of projects, continually consider risk and liabilities, highlighting concerns to management.
- Ensure adherence to the company policies and procedures relevant to the role.
Desired Qualifications
- Academic degree in planning, environmental, or engineering discipline
- Post-qualification experience
- Clear understanding of planning policy and environmental impact regulations
- Strong practical experience of site assessment, planning application/consent process including environmental impact assessment for major projects including renewable energy is essential.
- Working towards, or hold, Professional qualification (MRTPI/MRICS/MIEMA/MICE) is considered an asset
- Aptitude to learn and progress.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to cooperate with the team.
- Organised, efficient and self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised on specific tasks.
- Full driving license and access to a vehicle as the position requires frequent travel throughout England.
