Philipp arbeitet in der Projektfinanzierung bei ABO Energy

Philipp

Since April 2024, Philipp has been part of the team at ABO Energy. In the Project Finance & Sales department for German projects, he and his team ensure that our projects are financially on solid footing.

What are your responsibilities at ABO Energy, and what academic path did you take?

I work in Project Finance & Sales for German projects. We primarily deal with revenue and liquidity – everything related to banks and investors. My department is responsible for partnerships, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and substations, which are all crucial for the energy transition. My academic background is in economics, which fits well with combining financial and strategic topics.

What do you like the most about your work?

What we do is good – and how we do it, too!

The energy transition is a key issue: for climate protection, but also for the economic future of Europe. Countries like Germany have only limited fossil resources – our work helps make us more independent and secure long-term prosperity. It’s great to know that your work directly contributes to that.

Was there a project you found particularly exciting or that you’re especially proud of?

Yes – Waldkappel. It was my first project and also the first sale of a fully merchant-financed BESS project at ABO. The project is currently in the construction phase – super exciting, but also quite challenging.

More About Waldkappel Project

How would you describe your team?

We have a really strong team spirit – with our colleagues, our manager, our working students, and also with the neighboring department. We work very independently, there’s a lot of trust, and at the same time, a high level of expertise in the team. A great example is the Waldkappel project, but we also pull together when it comes to strategic topics like substations.
