Matthias About His Experience in Our Construction Department

What’s exciting about my job is that there’s no typical daily routine that repeats itself. Every day brings new challenges and tasks, which depend on the current phase of the project and the specific characteristics of each individual project.

The most exciting phase is the construction phase, where you see how well your planning holds up. During this time, the main tasks include coordinating and documenting construction site activities and continuously liaising with internal departments and external specialist companies.

Even during times without active construction on-site, the work is very diverse. It essentially involves ensuring that wind turbines reach their planned construction site safely and cost-effectively through technical planning, cost calculations, and smart negotiations.

Knowing that my work makes an active contribution to society and the environment, while doing something I enjoy, is a huge motivation for me. Specifically in construction, I like that every project ends with a tangible result (the wind turbines), and I can proudly say that I helped make that happen.

The good collaboration, collegial interaction, and friendly relationships with colleagues are key success factors at ABO Energy – especially in the construction department. Contrary to what I expected in my youth, I actually enjoy going to work, thanks to my great colleagues and the shared enthusiasm for the topic of renewable energy.

My idea of personal development is growing with your responsibilities.
