What are you studying and what is your role at ABO Energy?
I’m currently in my tenth semester studying Spatial Planning at TU Dortmund and working as a student assistant at ABO Energy. I support not only my colleagues in the Solar Department but also the Repowering Team. We student assistants are a valuable support for our project managers – we contribute across almost all areas of activity and step in when time is tight. I see myself as a small but important drop of oil in the large gearbox of ABO Energy, helping to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Which tasks do you enjoy the most?
That’s hard to say exactly. The great thing is that each task involves new projects, new challenges, and different circumstances, which gives every assignment a certain uniqueness and excitement. It’s simply rewarding to know that with every completed task, the world becomes a little more sustainable.
If I had to choose, I’d say the “puzzle tasks” with an exploratory nature are the most appealing to me, as they allow for real creative freedom. I particularly enjoy working with the Repowering team, as it provides insight into the bigger picture at ABO Energy and highlights the potential of our work.
How do you take responsibility for a greener future?
As a young person, the goal of a greener future is not just a responsibility I feel, but a fundamental challenge that I must face together with the rest of the world. In my personal life, I try to reduce my ecological footprint by using public transport and changing my consumption habits. But I’ve always felt that wasn’t enough, which is why I applied to ABO Energy – here, I feel I can do even more and actively help make the world greener and more sustainable.
Which of ABO Energy’s five values do you feel most connected to?
For me, the company values of ABO Energy are hard to separate – each one can only be upheld through the others. The five values represent a holistic concept that sets a determined yet mindful and considered course.
The value that resonates most with me, and which led me to ABO Energy, is responsibility. Especially ecological responsibility, but also responsibility towards colleagues, investors, and all other stakeholders we interact with. In a business that is so long-term and future-oriented, lasting and trustworthy partnerships are particularly important. This requires transparent working methods and open communication.
